& First Locate Rodeo

To our Members and the General Public:
We just wrapped up our 2019 Annual General Meeting, Safety Conference and 1st Locate Rodeo! The event was held over two (2) days, April 17th and 18th at Festival Place in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It was a big success and we had excellent attendance from a diverse group of people in the industry throughout Canada.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank our Gold, Silver and Bronze Sponsors as well as our many Event Sponsors; your support and contribution towards our Conference and Rodeo is very appreciated. We hope you found value in your Sponsorship as would like to see you again next year!
I would also like to thank our twenty-one (21) Exhibitors for showcasing their products and answering any questions from our attendees. Thank you for sharing your time with us and we look forward to seeing you again in 2020 at our next AGM and Safety Conference on April 24th!
Hats off to our Locate Rodeo Committee for doing an outstanding job on our first Locate Rodeo! I would like to personally thank everyone for their time and effort over the past few months organizing and planning our first Rodeo. Many individuals and Companies volunteered their time and resources behind the scenes to plan this event and the pay off was huge! The Rodeo was a big success and I am already looking forward to our next one!
When hosting an event, you rely on many volunteers. I would like to thank our judges, marshals, scorekeepers, working committee members, and St. John’s Ambulance for their first aide attendants - thank goodness we didn’t need them! I appreciate the time you contributed.
Thank you to our Guest Speaker and many Workshop Presenters. Some of the feedback received was “Excellent event. Good mixture of trade show, networking and education”. “Will share with my team!” Many great comments were received, and we are so glad everyone had a good time and learned something new!
We had many entries for the Rodeo that represented the Contractor Locators and the Third Party/Private Locators in our Competition. Congratulations to the winners! Your names will go on our Trophy as the “First Rodeo Winners of 2019”! Our trophy will be posted on our website for the world to see! Thank you to all the participants, I hope you enjoyed the event and we hope you participate in our next Rodeo in two (2) years time. The next rodeo is planned for April 2021.I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone as this was a big endeavour and everyone deserves a big pat on the back for making our Conference and Rodeo a big success. Thank you all for your contributions and I look forward to a successful year ahead of us. Our membership is growing as we are making great strides to “provide leadership, promote safety, and work to enhance the value and reputation of the underground facility locating industry in Canada”. I know we are making progress! See you in the new year!
